First child is now 3, I was induced in hospital 10 days past my due date. My waters broke (big gush, soaked the bed) then the pain kicked in. I was told I was not in labor and to get some sleep my so was sent home. The lights on the ward were turned off And I was left to it. The pain continued, got worse. A few hours pased a midwife finally came to see me but only because I was keeping everyone awake. I was checked and was 5cm I was told I could ring my so and when he arrived we went to a delivery room. 12 hours later I had a 9lb boy, he was perfect and I thought it was over..... I then had to lie with my legs in stirrups for nearly 3 hours being stitched up. I had rows of stitches from the neck of my womb down and my taint stitched back together. It was 3 weeks before I could pee without being in tremendous pain. 9 weeks ago I had my 2nd son. Again I was induced in hospital 9 days past my due date, I had a few twinges about 5 hours later, nothing painful tho. My waters broke, not a huge gush, I was 3cm. I was told to call my hubby, I thought it was a bit early but called him anyway, it was 4:09am I had to end the call as I was getting a strong contraction, within a min or 2 we were heading to delivery room, this was just up 1 floor in a lift. When we got there I was nearly 10cm and was handed the gas and air. I was ready to push a few pushes later out he popped, a tiny 6lb11. It was 4:30am, 21 minutes after I called my hubby. I had a few stitches, but nothing like the last time, in strolled my hubby an hour later looking shocked to see me sat up in bed with a coffee and a baby. So if anyone is expecting a 2nd don't worry, it gets easier.
