Pleased with the outcome of this project, I hope that /r/birthstories will become a staple subreddit among the reddit community of expectant parents, family members, and birth workers. I look forward to continuing the /r/birthstories subreddit as well as this webpage. Although this page offers more information, reflection, and organization than the Reddit library, it does not provide the opportunity to contribute a story within a community that can offer feedback and discussion. I will, however, continue to update this webpage with new posts contributed to the /r/birthstories library and any other additional resources I may discover in the future. With a new baby on the way, and the prospect of less free time, I plan to request the assistance of an additional moderator of the subreddit to monitor things and alert me if there is a large accumulation of stories that need to be imported to this website.

 

I want to express my sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to this project in the form of story telling, support, and participation. I wish strength and courage to those who are expecting as they embark on this mysterious and transformative journey. I also wish all who have already had the experience of childbirth the self-awareness and peace that they without a doubt deserve. Most importantly, it is my hope that all of these sentiments may all be accomplished through learning.
